DISPUTE RESOLUTION SOLUTIONS
Navigating you through conflict with new solutions
The prospect of separation, divorce, or custody arrangements can be intimidating, which is why Tanya Chamberlain Family Law favours Alternative Dispute Resolution. In other words, a no-court approach. In Tanya’s experience, it has proven that there is more control for her clients this way, and it’s generally a better process for the whole family. A binding agreement is reached with flexibility, speed, efficiency, and confidentiality.
Drafting a chart for your new life
Whether it be mediation, arbitration, or another form of dispute resolution to resolve family matters, Tanya will clearly explain the advantages and disadvantages of each option. This ensures her clients have a high-level understanding of family law processes to make the decision that’s best for their family. At the end of the day, her clients always maintain their personal autonomy.

Arbitration
Arbitration involves a third-party decision maker, who reviews evidence and listens to the arguments of each party before reaching a binding decision.
Mediation
A mediator facilitates a discussion between each party, who then draft a mutually agreed upon outcome. This is often the best choice for relationships that will be ongoing.
Collaborative Practice or Processes
Professionals, such as lawyers, financial specialists, counsellors, or social workers, collaborate with the disputing parties to arrive at a thoughtful solution.
Negotiation
Negotiation usually involves each party’s lawyers coming together to reach a solution. Tanya acts as an advocate for her clients, always with their best interests in mind.
Parenting Coordination
There are more moving parts when children are involved, and Tanya works with her clients to put together a realistic parenting plan. In some cases, ongoing coordination is appointed.
Putting the Children’s Best Interests First
Tanya is an accredited Hear the Child Member, which means she is able to sensitively conduct a neutral interview with any children who are impacted by the divorce or separation. A BC Hear the Child Report performed by Tanya acts as a guide when making decisions about the child’s best interest.
